What to have ready
- 01 Model and serial number. On Viking equipment the plate sits behind the door, under the control panel or along the inside of the cabinet frame.
- 02 What it is actually doing. “Clicks but will not light” and “lights then goes out” are two different faults with two different parts behind them.
- 03 How long it has been happening. Overnight failures and month-long drifts rarely share a cause.
- 04 Any error code on the display. Photograph it if it clears itself — the code narrows the circuit before we arrive.
