What to have ready

  1. 01 Model and serial number. On Viking equipment the plate sits behind the door, under the control panel or along the inside of the cabinet frame.
  2. 02 What it is actually doing. “Clicks but will not light” and “lights then goes out” are two different faults with two different parts behind them.
  3. 03 How long it has been happening. Overnight failures and month-long drifts rarely share a cause.
  4. 04 Any error code on the display. Photograph it if it clears itself — the code narrows the circuit before we arrive.

What Redmond customers report back

  1. Compressor ran constantly and the cabinet never quite got cold. The condenser coil behind the grille was packed with dust and dog hair. Cleaned it, checked the fan, cycling went normal again.

  2. Door latch stopped catching so the cycle never began. He replaced the latch switch and adjusted the custom panel, which had drifted out of square. No more slamming the thing twice.

    Quinn A.Overlake

  3. Middle burner knob spun without changing the flame. The valve stem had stripped. He had the part on the van and swapped it in twenty minutes.
