Preheat and temperature
- How do you know when a Viking oven is preheated? On ovens with an indicator light it goes out at the set temperature; a thermometer confirms it
- What does the Viking preheat indicator light mean? The indicator light follows the thermostat: lit while heating, out once the oven is there
- When does a slow Viking preheat mean a fault? A gas oven that takes far longer than it used to, or stalls short, usually has a weak igniter
- Can you calibrate a Viking oven yourself? You can check a Viking oven's accuracy yourself; the adjustment is best left to a technician
- How far off is too far off for oven temperature? Viking's service test accepts an average 15°F below to 25°F above 350°F; beyond that, call
