Oven Repair
Convection, bake and broil element repair plus thermostat and control calibration on Viking ovens.
What we get called out for
- Oven takes over 40 minutes to reach 350°F, or never gets there
- Display shows an F-code and the oven locks itself out
- Convection fan rattles or stops mid-bake
- Baked goods burn on the bottom and stay pale on top
What the reading usually says
-
Oven takes 40+ minutes to reach 350°F
ReadingSlow rise, no F-code
A weakening bake igniter drawing under 3.2 amps — it glows, but never pulls the safety valve open long enough. A classic gradual failure.
-
Display throws an F-code and locks out
ReadingControl board fault latched
Usually an open or shorted oven sensor reading out of range, which the control interprets as a runaway and shuts down. Sensor first, board second.
Before you call
Have the model and serial number ready — on Viking equipment they are on a plate behind the door, under the control panel or along the inside of the cabinet frame. With the model in hand we can usually tell you on the phone whether the likely part is on the van or has to be ordered, which decides whether this is a one-visit job.
It also helps to know how long the symptom has been building. A fault that appeared overnight and one that has been creeping for a month rarely have the same cause, even when they look identical from the front.

Upper oven threw an F-code and locked itself out halfway through a roast. Another company had already told us the control board was gone. The temperature sensor was reading well outside its band, and replacing that sensor fixed it.

Broil element glowed at one end only and smoked. It had a hairline break inside the sheath. Replaced with the right part for our model number, and broiling is even across the pan.

Oven took nearly an hour to reach 350 and dinner timing became a guess. The bake igniter was drawing under three amps. He measured it, swapped it, and preheat is back to normal.

Two minutes on the phone usually narrows a Viking fault to one or two parts before anyone is dispatched to Redmond. No charge for the conversation — the $89 service call starts when a technician is at your door, and comes off the bill if you approve the repair.
