On a dual-fuel Viking, which part is gas?

Check, in this order

Burner silent? Knob off, then check the range is plugged in and its breaker on.

What each half is made of
Viking’s VDR5 Professional dual-fuel manual lists sealed gas burners with clicking electric igniters, and an oven with split bake and broil elements, a concealed bake element and a convection element.
Stop and call if
- Part of the bake element or broil element glows brighter than the rest, or sparks.
- Gas smell near the burners: get everyone out, then ring the gas utility or 911.
- The power is out: Viking says its igniters will not work, so leave the range alone.

Why does it need both a gas line and a heavy circuit?
Each half runs on its own energy. The burners burn gas and use power only for their spark; the oven takes all its heat from the electric supply, and Viking's VDR5 manual notes preheat slows below 240 volts. Viking Repair Redmond: (425) 585-2373.
Do the glow-bar checks on this site apply to it?
Not to the oven. It heats with elements, so glow-bar and flame checks belong to all-gas models; element faults, tripped breakers and a weak supply are the ones to read about. Its igniters serve only the gas burners on top.
